Replace Lost Titles in Washington DC

Provide your local DC DMV office with:

  • A completed Application for a Duplicate Certificate of Title. Be sure to fill in the application's Odometer Statement section.
  • Your District of Columbia drivers license, learners permit, or identification card.
  • One of the following vehicle identification documents: car registration, vehicle identification number (VIN), DC title number, vehicle tag number or registration renewal notice.
  • Cash or a check, money order, or credit card (Discover, Visa, MasterCard) to pay the $26 duplicate title fee.
