What is the state requirement for auto insurance in Idaho?
Auto insurance is required for all vehicles registered in Idaho. To comply, you must carry the following amounts of liability insurance protection:
- $25,000 for bodily injury or death for one person in any one accident.
- $50,000 for bodily injury or death for more than one person in any one accident.

Carry Proof of ID Auto Insurance
You must carry proof of car insurance when driving. Your insurance company will provide you with an insurance identification card containing all pertinent information: policy number, policy expiration date, and vehicle description. The repercussions for driving without valid insurance are such:- First offense: $75 fine.
- Subsequent offenses: Fines as high as $1,000 and up to six months in jail.
