Is the CDL knowledge test multiple choice like the CDL practice tests?

Yes, it is. The CDL practice test tries to mimic the CDL Test. That way, you will have a pretty good sense of what taking the actual CDL knowledge test will be like.

Most state DMVs or motor vehicle bureaus have free practice tests for the CDL. But some have only a few questions; for example, California’s practice tests have just 10 questions. This may not be enough practice for you to do well on the real exam.

You'll probably want to see more practice tests, so strongly consider purchasing a practice test that has multiple questions. That way, you can see if you need to study the CDL manual more, or if you’re already on track to pass the test.
