How many DMV sample exams should I take to be well prepared?
You should take as many practice tests as you have time to take. The DMV sample exams generally has around ten questions, depending on your state. These questions don’t cover every single question that might show up on the real drivers test. So even if you got all the practice test questions right, you still might fail the actual exam, which has many more questions.
For this reason, drivers license candidates sometimes purchase practice tests with many more questions added to the mix, especially if you tend to not be great at test-taking. This allows for better preparation ahead of the real test because it provides a wider sampling of the types of questions from the drivers handbook.
