You've got plenty of choices.

The California DMV offers five free practice learners permit tests on its site. But, don't stop there. You can find a CA DMV permit practice test from other sources, too. Many third-party providers offer a permit practice test; some of these tests are available for free.

It's a great idea to take a permit test from different sources. Why? Because doing so exposes you to a fuller range of questions, wording and styles. It gets you much more prepared for the official drivers permit test.

Remember, you stand a much better chance of passing the actual drivers license test on the first try if you're as ready as you can be. You'll be more relaxed on testing day because you know the material so well. And, when you're not tense, it will be easier to recall the information.

So, before you head off to the DMV, be sure to take a permit practice test - or several.
