Where can I find a court approved driving course?
The court and your local DMV are on the same page regarding traffic school. Both recognize the same list of state-approved defensive driving schools. After being sentenced for a traffic ticket, either inquire with the court about a state-approved list of schools or contact your DMV. Most DMV Web sites provide a long list of court- and state-approved schools, complete with contact numbers, addresses, and in some instances, Web sites.
Be sure, however, that the course you enroll in is approved. The court will not budge on this. Even if you see an online traffic school advertising that it's court-approved, be sure to double-check this claim with your DMV. Otherwise all of your time and money will go for naught, requiring you to re-enroll in an approved school to fulfill your speeding ticket or other traffic ticket penalty.
