Where can I download a CDL Pre Trip Inspection Checklist?
That depends on where you live. The CDL manual covers inspection checklist information in detail. However, not every state's driver's license division allows you to download this manual. And, even if you can, the download will be a large one, due to the size of the manual.
So, your best bet is to stop by a local division of your driver's license division and see if a hard copy is available. Or, you can call your driver's license headquarters or your local branch and see if a copy can be mailed to you.
A pre-inspection is vital to the safety of yourself, your cargo, and other drivers. By conducting an inspection, you lessen the chance of a mechanical breakdown, or even a crash. Beyond that, you're required to conduct these inspections by federal laws.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) offers more http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?chunkKey=090163348002397d">information on these important pre-inspections.

This is an info based non-state specific page. Research this, but I think each state has its own checklist and there is also this: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?chunkKey=090163348002397d
This is a case where we need to talk about the necessity for pre trip inspections, offer them the link to this FMVSA page and then at the bottom we will add a list of the state's that will take them to our www.motorvehicles.org on their state's page.
