If I have a CDL can I attend DMV driving school to dismiss a ticket?
Probably not. But, you might be able to obtain a court order or special permission from your state to allow you to take the traffic school or defensive driving school course and keep the points off your license.
Commercial drivers are held to higher standards due to the type of vehicles they drive and the number of hours they spend on the road. So, unlike those with regular driver's licenses, CDL holders usually can't get rid of a speeding ticket or other traffic ticket by taking a DMV driving school class--even when you got the ticket driving your personal vehicle.
To find out about your particular situation, ask the judge overseeing your traffic case or talk to your state's driver's licensing department.
