Write a letter asking the traffic court overseeing your case (or possibly your state's driver's license department) if it will accept course completion from a traffic school program not listed on the approved DMV online traffic school roster. Be sure to explain the situation with plenty of information, including complete course information and why you chose a non-approved defensive driving school or traffic school.

Keep in mind, though, that you may not be successful. States want to ensure their drivers receive a quality education whenever they take a DMV online traffic school course; that's why they have approved lists. And, it's also why not all traffic schools are court-approved or state-approved for the purposes of dismissing a traffic ticket or a speeding ticket.

By the way, even if a site claims to be on the approved list for your state, be sure to confirm this with your state before paying for the course. Doing so can save you from a lot of frustration later.
