Do free traffic school courses remove traffic tickets from my driving record?

The free traffic school will probably make a claim to that effect, but ultimately it's the court that makes this decision. And this has no bearing on whether the online traffic school is free or costs $29.95. So in addition to consulting the targeted traffic school for advice, check with your state's governing authorities.

Most state DMV Web sites, for instance, provide comprehensive state-wide lists of approved defensive driving schools. This means only course certificates from these schools will be accepted. The importance of this cannot be overstated, especially if your intent is to have a traffic ticket dismissed or a speeding ticket removed from your driving record. If you cannot find a list of approved schools, free or pay, from your DMV, try contacting your sentencing court.
