Will online drivers ed direct mail my completion certificate to the DMV?

New Driver Checklist

You will have to check with your driver ed online course. Each program adopts its own policies.

Offering drivers ed direct mail is a common feature with many online drivers ed programs, but in most cases your completion certificate will be sent to your home address. You'll then be required to take the certificate, with other required paperwork, to your DMV office in person and, depending on your situation, apply for a permit or a drivers license.

Most drivers education schools will immediately mail your drivers ed certificate following the completion of your course. If you need it in a hurry, you may, depending on the school, be given the option of overnight mail for an additional fee. Or, if you live close to the school, arrange to pick it up in person. Fax options usually exist, but most DMV offices require the actual certificate.
