What are the age requirements to take TX driver ed? Texas
Texas teens can begin taking a TX driver ed course at the age of 14. This includes driver ed online courses and parent taught driver education programs. And although you can begin studying for your drivers license at 14, you must wait until you reach 15 to apply for a permit.
Because drivers ed is required for all teen drivers, be sure the program you enroll in meets state approval. Only completion certificates from sanctioned schools will be recognized by the state. Even if a school advertises as "state approved" it is always safest to do a double-check by contacting the DMV for a list of approved programs.
