Your best bet is to contact your state's DMV. Most will either have a list of approved commercial driver's schools or be able to direct you to the proper channel. If obtaining a commercial drivers license is your ultimate goal, be sure you enroll in a state-approved commercial driving program. Unless your training certificate comes from a certified school, you will not be allowed to apply for a CDL.

But before you can enroll in a commercial drivers school you must first of course, hold a regular drivers license. A drivers ed course can help you obtain a license and at the same time teach you valuable defensive driving tips and techniques that apply specifically to commercial driving. In addition, a drivers education program and a driver ed online course can shed light on the necessary steps to take in applying for a commercial drivers license.
