Considering the time and money involved with taking a drivers license test, it's in your best interest to pass on your first attempt. And one of the best ways for preparing, outside of studying your state's drivers manual, is to take a practice temp test.

Fortunately, for your sake, there are many sample tests now available online. Most state DMV Web sites provide sample written driver license tests. California, for example, offers five different online tests. Oregon offers two each in English and Spanish. And Connecticut provides three sample tests.

There are also many excellent online independent providers who offer multiple sample tests based on information taken from each state's respective drivers manual. These sample tests are just like the real tests, featuring multiple choice questions based on information found in your respective state's drivers manual. You can take them as many times as you like, allowing you to gauge your strengths and weaknesses.
