How helpful is a drivers ed practice test?
- What reduces the effect that alcohol has on you? (Waiting several hours before driving)
- If you are taking medicine that may affect your ability to drive, what should you do? (Consult your doctor)
- What driving skills are affected by alcohol? (All of them)
- What describes a defensive driver? (Someone who thinks about what the other drivers around him may do and is prepared for it)
- If your car breaks down on the highway, what should you do? (Pull off the road with all four wheels off the highway, if possible)
Since you may be required to take a road test in order to get your driver's license, a good driver's ed program will include plenty of practice to help you get ready for this type of exam. Some of the things you might cover when practicing for the road test include:
- When are you allowed to parallel park? (To load and unload passengers)
- When you meet a school bus with its lights flashing and its stop sign arm extended, what do you do? (Stop until the lights go out and the arm pulls back in)
- When is it illegal to turn close to a hill or a curve? (If the driver cannot see at least 500 feet in each direction)
- What is the best way to change lanes? (Gradually and very carefully)
Taking a drivers ed practice test as part of your driver's ed program can help calm your jitters and make you more likely to get your license on the first try. There may be questions on the practice tests that you had not thought to study or that you missed while reviewing the manual on your own. Taking a few practice tests will help you pass your learners permit test.
