Each school is different, so you will have to inquire with your instructor about the possible availability of a practice driving test. In most cases, however, this option does not exist. Instructors will teach you what to expect, but given that each test is different, determined by the driving situations at the time of the exam (pedestrians in cross-walks, intersection traffic, approaching emergency vehicle...), there's no way of duplicating an actual drivers license test.

Things you can expect to be tested on include parallel parking, changing lane techniques, awareness of posted speed limits, driving in expressway traffic, crossing railroad tracks, and approaching and turning at intersections.

And keep in mind that most states ban drivers from driving in a designated road test area except during the actual exam.

Before scheduling a road test, be sure you meet all drivers permit or learners permit requirements. Most states require you to hold a permit for a specific amount of time before allowing you to take a skills test. If you have not obtained a permit, you can do so by studying your state's drivers manual and then taking a practice permit test, which can be found online, for free, from a number of different sites.
