Does a learners practice test also cover road signs?
In states with Graduated Driver License programs, earning your learners permit is the first step towards earning a full drivers license. To get a permit, you must meet your state's age requirements and successfully pass a written exam.
Since the purpose of getting a drivers permit is to be able to legally practice behind the wheel, the questions do not assume that you have any practical firsthand knowledge of how to operate a motor vehicle under various road conditions.
The test does focus on basic safety and road sign identification. The number of questions devoted to each topic varies, but most states devote about half of the learners permit test to road sign identification. For example,
The learners practice test covers the same types of true or false and multiple choice questions you would expect to find on the actual written exam to receive your drivers permit. The questions won't be exact duplicates, but they should give you a good idea of whether or not you're prepared for the test.
You can find practice permit tests in your state's driver manual or online through third party Web sites. Some third party sites may require you to pay a small fee for accessing test questions, but the investment may be worth it if you are very anxious about completing your permit test.
